I
am out of pins again,
so this time I’d better buy 100. They are very
well received here [Washington DC]. More than any other
symbol in a long time, Support Sanity’s lapel pin
encourages people to unlock their hearts. Most of
the pins I give away get instantly worn. –
Michael
Your act of designing and having
pins made and distributed … is one of those noble
gestures that takes one’s breath away. When I first saw
them, all I could think of to say was, “YES!” –
Annette
I was so touched when I read the
e-mail about those pins. I thought that there is a
chance for peace still. I do not know what to tell you
other than you are so GREAT. We need every possible way
to co-exist those two nations together and to try to
eliminate the hatred between them. I really admire your
initiative and I would love to get this pin. I have lot
of friends and people who would love to carry those and
distribute them. Let me know how can I order and how
much. Thanks again, and may God bless you. –

Your message resonates powerfully
for me. Thank you for articulating the need for a deeply
human, non-polarizing approach to the conflict and
movement towards peace. - Idit
I'm thrilled about what you're up
to. Let's blanket the country with this visible display
of our support of peace and dignity in the Middle
East
for all. – Susie
Love my pins. They
are beautiful. Sent information to LT in California. He is one of the
pioneers in dialoging with Palestinians and
Israelis. ... Hope you will hear from him, and I am
sure you will from me again.
– Jeanie
I was excited to see your ad in Biblical Archaeology Review and to investigate
your website. As to the items we ordered, the flag set
and clock will go to my office at the church, my wife
wants the mug for her office, and the pins we will wear
and share with friends. (We took a group from our
church to Beit Sahour in the summer of 2000 and worked
at a school for handicapped girls. Those people all stay
current on the situation and would all strongly agree
with your position of two states for two people). The
message on the clock face says it all: "It's time". –
Paul
Your pins are wonderful. What a
simple thing, yet what hope it brings to people. I think
it was Gandhi who said something like “when there is a
just cause, supporters seem to come out of the
woodwork”. With this gesture, you’ve joined my list of
heroes. – Annette
I love, love, love what you all are
up to and I plan on wearing my support for "a world of
peace and dignity for all" everywhere I go until we
accomplish those goals. I really look forward to
receiving my order. – Susie
As
an American Christian who has lived in Cairo, and
has ties to Arabs, Palestinians, Jews, the Middle East
and to Islam, I have to say your site and your approach
is a wonderful breath of fresh air! Congratulations on
finding a way to articulate a position that is so simple
and so straightforwardly consistent with what people of
conscience and faith everywhere believe--your message is
so simple that it is not difficult to support, and I am
happy to be able to recommend it to ALL of the various
concerned friends and acquaintances I have! –
Lynn
I wear the lapel pin at the
meetings I attend here in Washington DC,
meetings all of the think tank variety. The accuracy of
the pin's underlying sentiment is recognized by nearly
everyone I encounter, Jew and non-Jew alike. –
Michael
I think what you're doing with
Support Sanity is really important and I'm glad you're
pursuing this! Keep up the great work! –

I
love the simplicity and daring of your symbol,
and your emphasis on the dignity of both peoples. –
Robert
I cannot thank you enough for the
pin. I am
wearing it everywhere, all the time. –
Dana
I gave out all
your buttons but the one I kept for myself. H___
and M___, two Palestinian-Israeli peace scholars and
activists, really appreciated them, saying: "This is our
identity exactly". – Mitchell
Your pins are lovely and have a
wonderful message behind them. – Amal
Very inspiring website and cause.
... I am interested in helping out. I am 23 years old
and would like to help in any way possible. For the past
few years I have been drawn to the ongoing conflict and
can't help but feel compassion for both sides though I
am neither Jewish nor Palestinian. Let me know what I
can do. Thank you. – Luke
I’m thrilled to see you’re doing
such wonderful work! It’s amazing how a small thing like
a button can really tap into such deep emotions. –
Marisa
Peace
be upon you! Your
message has been forwarded to the list. ... Keep up the
good work and God bless. – Jawad
An
excellent idea and a wonderful site. You are very
good at website design, the site is a pleasure to
explore. – John
We received your package of pins
today! What a HUGE hit they made at our weekly peace
vigil. Our group consensed at tonight’s meeting to
support your efforts. Everyone really loves the
pins. I
have collected $35.00 to send to you for the pins you
sent and towards an order of more pins. When will more
pins be ready? – Deanna
The website is wonderful. ... Thank
you for your good work. Why do so few speak up? –
Judith
Last night, I awoke from a dream that might make you smile. In it, I saw a
Palestinian protest forming at the side of a highway.
The Palestinians were in traditional black dresses and
other such garb. I approached a woman and offered her my
pin! (the crossed flags). She did not want it, but
I asked her to talk to me, and we engaged in a long
conversation. She described first the abuses that
she suffered under Israeli occupation. But then she
described the corruption of the PA, and a particular
incident that had happened to one person who fell out on
the wrong side of its corrupt minions. Her
conversation was flecked with Hebrew, and as I talked to
her and looked at her face, I realized that, in some
ways, she was much more Israeli than I was [as an
American Jew]. I had a vision of Israeli and Palestinian
society merging in some future time, when people like
her would walk the streets of Jerusalem freely, even
move in next door, when her son would be the boy next
door. Who knows? Herzl said, "Eem tirtsu, ayn zo
agada (If you will it, it is no dream)." -

Providing a meeting place for those
who want to wage peace: What a great idea! –
Jim
Our website continues to get some hatemongers signing the guestbook. I delete their trash
and exclude their IP for the future. More than ever, I
believe in the purpose behind Support Sanity. There is
so much hate on both sides. A chill comes over me when I
read some of the comments from Israeli and Palestinian
writers. – Dennis
Your mission statement, as I
understand it, is the sole way to bring sanity and
humanity to the Middle
East. – Robert
I am amazed to hear about your
activities, and the pin you produced! Keep up the good
work! – Orly
Thanks for not being afraid to take
a stand for peace. – Ruth |
