Being the Change We Wish to See

The Six Day Peace component of our work is fostering and coordinating an annual six-day, positive, media-friendly global network of events that builds mass support for an evenhanded two-state solution – a unique opportunity to highlight the sentiments embodied in the crossed-flags-over-motto insignia to Palestinians and Israelis on the front line, to their supporters around the world and to the general public.

Among the types of events we anticipate are political rallies, cultural festivals and exchanges, and educational events. But we encourage people to think of other activities and to share their ideas with us so we can share them with others.

While we will undertake certain national and international activities (such as advertising) directly, we will not be directly planning or organizing most Six Day Peace events. Rather, we will operate as the "coordinator of coordinators", providing centralized planning and support that minimizes the burden on individual event organizers and maximizes the overall impact of the combined events.

Our fundamental goal is to increase public awareness of, and support for, an alternative to the current cycle of injustice and violence. Which in turn means building public awareness of, and support for, the shared humanity and legitimacy of both sides of the conflict and demonstrating that an alternative is possible.

Organizing Six Day Peace events is an excellent way for groups and individuals to network and build coalitions and alliances.
